To our Parish Families,

We pray that you are well after Hurricane Milton. We pray for all those who were affected by the devastating tornadoes, wind, and rain. We continue to extend our thoughts and prayers to those still recovering from the devastation left by Helene.  May God bless us with a quiet end of hurricane season and cooperative weather as we clean up from these storms.

While St. John the Evangelist was blessed by not having any water intrusion or major damage, we are still without power on most of the campus, including our Church. We do plan on having our regularly scheduled Masses this weekend. However, we ask that you consider the following before attending Mass:

  • We have a portable sound system that supports only Priest and Reader’s microphones. Sound does not reach the back of the Church. Our Loop system (for those with assisted listening devices) does not function without power.
  • There is no air conditioning in the Church.
  • With no power, we will rely only on natural light.
  • We are currently unable to stream Masses.

Once power is restored at the Church, we will let parishioners know via email. We will also post it on the Priest/Mass schedule section of our website (sjecc.com).

Several of you have asked how you can help. Thank you for your kindness. In the coming week, we will know if there are St. John the Evangelist parishioners and/or others in our Diocese that may need our support.

May God bless you and continue to keep you safe!
